Resolving “AMEND NOT ALLOWED” Error During Aadhaar Linking

1. Purpose

To provide a standardized process for branch staff to identify and resolve the error “AMEND NOT ALLOWED” while linking Aadhaar to customer accounts.

2. Scope

Applicable to all branch staff handling Aadhaar seeding/linking in CBS.

3. Prerequisites

- Access to FTP Aadhaar Link Report
- Access to CBS system
- Account number of the customer

4. Procedure

Branches receive the Aadhaar link report via FTP. Open the Friday Weekly report file.Name uidd0001.txt

Step 2: Search Account Details

Search for the customer account number in the report. Copy the corresponding Aadhaar Reference Key (ARK).

Step 3: Access CBS Menu

Log in to CBS and navigate to:
CBS Main Menu → Branch Administration → General Enquiries → 67051: ARK to Aadhaar

Step 4: Fetch Aadhaar Details

Paste the copied ARK and click on “Fetch Aadhaar”.

Step 5: Verify Aadhaar Information

Compare the previously linked Aadhaar number with the current Aadhaar number being linked.

Step 6: Identify Issue

If numbers differ, this may cause the “AMEND NOT ALLOWED” error. If numbers match, check for other system or data issues.

5. Outcome

Branch can identify discrepancies between existing and new Aadhaar details and take corrective action.
